James Parker
Managing Director & Responsible Manager
James is the founder of Southland Stokers and a seasoned financier with extensive experience in negotiating and settling hundreds of construction, business, and investment loans. As a hands-on Director, he is actively involved in all aspects of the Fund, including credit, finance, and treasury, ensuring that every detail aligns with the company’s high standards. Additionally, James serves as the Responsible Manager on the company’s Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), overseeing compliance and regulatory responsibilities with precision.
James’s career began after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, spending six years with Deloitte & Touche in Johannesburg and London. He then co-founded Watermans Chartered Accountants, dedicating a decade to business consulting and development. His leadership and expertise were recognized through his roles on the boards and committees of various public companies and as the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Midrand.
In addition to his extensive experience, Jamesis a registered Certified Practicing Accountant in Australia and holds a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking. His comprehensive background, combined with a commitment to excellence, continues to drive the success and growth of Southland Stokers, ensuring robust and innovative financial solutions for clients.

Matthew has been an integral part of Southland Stokers since 2012, playing a pivotal role in investor management and compliance functions.
With over 30 years of experience in banking and finance, Matthew has navigated diverse sectors, including private banking, structured finance, leasing, and fleet management. He has held esteemed senior executive positions at prominent organizations such as Investec Bank, Lease Plan NV, and Absa Bank.
Holding a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours, Matthew brings a wealth of expertise to private mortgage lending and investment. His dynamic and pragmatic approach to business operations not only enhances but also ensures the efficacy and compliance of our operations. Reflecting his deep understanding and commitment to regulatory risk management, Matthew’s contributions are instrumental in maintaining the integrity and security of our investment processes.

Sarah has spent the past 12 years immersed in the banking world, specializing in business banking and property finance for construction and development. Sarah’s expertise in finding the right financial solutions to meet unique needs has been a cornerstone of her professional life.
Her path has taken her through roles as a Relationship Executive and Business Development Manager at BOQ, Macquarie, and CBA. In these positions, she specialized in professional services, medical business finance, retail, and the not-for-profit sector. Each role provided Sarah with invaluable insights into different industries and helped her hone her skills in building strong, lasting relationships with clients. Supporting businesses in achieving their financial goals and witnessing their growth has been incredibly rewarding for her.

Daniel entered the financial arena in 1996, beginning his career in accounting at Genial Accounting, where his expertise in taxation and audit quickly set him apart. By 2001, he had risen to partner status, managing a diverse portfolio of 500 companies, trusts, and individuals.
In 2007, Daniel ventured into Australia, bringing his extensive experience to Southland Stokers. Since 2012, he has served as Loans Manager, overseeing every facet of loan management from initial setup and funding to settlement, collections, and repayment. Daniel’s entry into the financial world has equipped him with the skills to adeptly navigate its complexities, ensuring our lending operations are conducted with precision and finesse.

Previously, Emily served as a Business Operations Manager at a leading property development firm, where she was instrumental in driving expansion and profitability. As a former senior government lawyer, she gained valuable expertise in regulatory frameworks and state infrastructure projects.
Now at Southland Stokers, Emily applies her expertise to navigate complex legal and regulatory landscapes, ensuring compliance while protecting investment opportunities. Her proficiency in contractual agreements facilitates successful transactions, while her proactive risk management approach safeguards investor interests, contributing to Southland Stokers’ continued growth and stability.

Joshua brings over two decades of experience in the Australian banking and business finance industry, having risen to Branch Management level. Following this, he accumulated more than 20 years as a Finance Broker, showcasing his extensive expertise in the field.
For the past decade, Joshua has led the Group’s finance broking entity, Total Flexi Finance, overseeing its operations with remarkable proficiency. His wealth of experience in residential and commercial property finance significantly enriches the capabilities of Southland Stokers.
In his role as Business Development Executive, Joshua plays a pivotal role in every facet of the loan origination process. From the initial assessment of applications for short-term business loans to deal preparation, credit submission, negotiation of terms, and settlement, his involvement ensures a seamless and effective lending operation.
